This Thanksgiving, Surjan Super School pauses to acknowledge the immense, dazzling network of people, ideas, tools, images, and transformations that shaped this year.

It has been a year of expansion, experimentation, model-cities, AI architectures, new pedagogies, and an ever-growing visual universe that has redefined what an art–architecture school can be.

And so, in this newsletter, we honor what Surjan is thankful for—the forces that made 2025 not just a productive year, but a profound one.

The Joyful Infrastructure Project For revealing that cities can be soft, chromatic, and generous.

III. WHAT THIS YEAR TAUGHT US

That architecture is no longer a discipline—it is an ecosystem.
That AI is not the end of creativity—it is the amplifier of our inner worlds.
That buildings need not be heavy; they can be playful, bright, and childlike.
That pedagogy is most powerful when it is inventive rather than inherited.
That every model, drawing, and story carries the potential to change how students see the possible.

IV. A THANKSGIVING REFLECTION — FROM SURJAN TO THE SCHOOL
